KA is not a good national fraternity. Go SAE. KA is pretty strong in the south but even then most people view them as racist. Go SAE, SX, Lambda Chi, or Sig Ep.

Guitar Hero=douche but what about Rock Band? The vocal part of the game should separate the game itself from Guitar Hero, plus Rock Band has Jimmy Buffet

doug,
I just recieved my aa at a small school in my home state. i am now in the process of transferring out to a larger school and i want to join a top tier fraternity such as KA or SAE. i have a small tattoo on the back of my arm that some family members got together when one of them were about to go to iraq for the marines. would this limit me from attaining the fratdaddy status i am seeking?

I am writing in responce to infinite amount of "yankee" bashing taking place on this site. While I understand that many northerners dress/act/talk like complete fools, this does not mean that there are no fratstars north of the mason dixon line, trust me there are and I am one. Also the style of dress that is put forth on this site has long been a staple in the upscale suburbs of New York and Boston. Vineyard Vines, which you praise, is a clothing line started by two brothers from Greenwich, CONNECTICUT to give people something to wear while living the good life in Martha's Vineyard, MASSACHUSETTS. We were taught way before college, probably before prep school how to dress, I can safetly say I have never owned any article of clothing from the evil As. Also, with cost of living significantly higher in the north, frattabbing is way more fratastic (go to any bar/club in NYC and you'll see what I mean). Not trying to be competetive, just defending my right to frat, and frat hard I will.

ps great work with the site, truly a masterpiece. Although it lost points when I saw the amount of dweebs who are most likely virgins asking if their polo shirt is fratty enough.

To each his own but I don't know about the lightest color jeans. I tend to think that "normal" colored jeans, tending to darker look better. If you can get a pair of jeans with nothing on pocket, more power to you. Besides that- go Levis. Polo is a collection of American Traditional, not an arbiter of it (and I find the whole idea of Ralph Lauren selling me "tradition" since 1967 to be shady.) As with caps and visors, jeans should show some wear, but not to the extent allowed with a cap.

How could linen with suede bucks in hot mid summer not get thumbs up too? So too the (Cole Haan) driving shoe, which I think that should have been confirmed a decade ago having equal to better position to the boat shoe, but I like that FH was so hardcore to do maintain the traditional bias to boating.

This fall I am waiting for FH to come around to suede car coats and maybe tweed, windowpane, houndstooth and herringbone jackets at least for post grad. You gotta keep it traditional. IMO Canoeing, (as with other outdoor sports like hunting and fishing) is acceptable.

But I am a Yankee, (as in family has been here before this was a country not as in Jersey gel head). We are pretty much seeing eye to eye on this fratty thing.

Doug,

When it comes to rolling up the sleeves on a pastel colored polo button down, whats the optimal roll length and what part of the arm is it on? And can this make the difference between shacking with a Plan A and a Plan B?

alright im sure this is a frequently asked question but what about selection of cologne. Is cologne Frat? if so what brand. obviously AXE and cheap body sprays arent frat because of their popularity with guidos and low price tag. this is an instance where i feel that more progressive brands might be more acceptable.

I insist pleated shorts/slacks are much frattier than the barbarous flat front variety. Any disagreement?
