*** FRAT MADNESS 2010 – REGION 1 REVEALED ***

Fratdaddies and Sorostitutes, the time be nigh.  Through the course of today, we will release, region by region, the combatants in this year’s Frat Madness Tournament.  As you surely know by now, this year’s competition will not be between acts and items, but will, instead, determine which college or university reigns supreme as the frattiest institution in the land.

We have taken all your nominations, and the seeding is complete.  We will release the four regions one at a time.  The regions this year are:

  • Conecuh Ridge Region
  • Maker’s Mark Region
  • Gentleman Jack Region
  • Knob Creek Region

We ask you to bear a few things in mind as you ponder this year’s entries.  First, we did not select or seed these institutions.  We merely ranked them according to how many nominations they received and seeded them accordingly.  Only in cases of ties did your Professors seed one school over another based on our personal knowledge.  If you see a school you think should be on the list but isn’t, it is because it was not nominated.  If you see a school that you think shouldn’t be in the tournament, but is, that is because someone nominated it.  What can you do about that?  Help defeat it when it’s first round game comes around by voting for its opponent.

Now, without further ado, I present to you the Conecuh Ridge Region, led by the overall #1 seed…with the most nominations in this year’s tournament…The University of Alabama.

    Cornell over Indiana (upset)

    Troy over Purdue (upset)

    Florida State over Mercer

Carolina over UCF (why is UCF even on there)

    Washington & Lee over Washington

  2. Robert E. Lee says:

Where on earth is the University of Georgia? This is ridiculous, those of whom who are voting know nothing of truly ‘fratty institutions’.

  3. James says:

Southern Methodist University….easily frattiest school in the nation

  4. btd says:

unc should make it to the elite 8

  5. Banker 101 says:

  6. W&L FRAT says:

Cinci, USF, FSU, Purdue, is this the frattiest universities or the d-bag universities?

  7. i blow lines says:

Not having The University of Virginia in the South region is laughable at best.

  8. Fraturday says:

Damn dennison is pretty fratty, its a shame its a 16th seed

Alabama and Washington and Lee, and UNC are the only true southern fratty schools on here, who the fuck nominated USF cinci and shit

  9. Fratosaurus Rex says:

Dartmouth???? are you kidding might as well put MIT on there too GDI

  10. cole trickle says:

    w&l over washington(fucking washinton?)

  11. GTfratdaddy says:

Every one of you is a retard. This is one of 4 regions. be patient.

  12. Doug Neidermeyer says:

    Some quick comments:

as GTfratdaddy says, this is one of 4 regions. They are not “south region”, “north region”, “west region”, etc. The fact of the matter is that a good number of the nominations were from schools in the south. We couldn’t fit them all in one region even if wanted to, and even if we could it would make no sense to have them knocking each other out while D-II schools in Oregon put to fill the west bracket made it deep in the tournament. For example, someone mentioned Virginia…they are in the tournament, as the 5th seed in Region 4.

And, one more time…we only put schools in the tournament that got nominated. No additions or subtractions, save those schools who were not in the top 64 in nominations.

  13. themachine says:

    Alabama over Denison
    Cincinnati over William&Mary
    Auburn over South Florida
    Cornell over Indiana
    Purdue over Troy
    Mercer over Florida State
    North Carolina over Central Florida
    Washington&Lee over Washington.

  14. JacksonsMen says:

Definitely FSU over mercer. Mercer what football team? What parties? Yes there are 3 miami fraternities on the campus that are completely guido, but as a whole the fraternities here are full of guys that would definitely be taken at top institutions of fratology.

  15. uncfratter says:

    Bama over Denison
Bill & Mary over Cincy (really?)
    Auburn over USF
    Cornell over Indiana
    Purdue over Troy
    FSU over Mercer
    Carolina over UCF (again, really?)
    W&L over Wash

Some of these seedings are real shockers.

  16. Boone says:

NC State getting a higher seed than North Carolina is a complete joke. Anyways:

    Alabama
    W & M
    Auburn
    Cornell
    Purdue
    FSU
    UNC
    W & L

  17. Brohammed Ali says:

    BAMA
    CINCY
    AUBURN
    INDIANA
    PURDUE
    FSU
    UNC
    W&L

  18. BROCHOCINCO says:

Why is there any doubt? Cincinnati is the frattiest. anyone who wants to argue this feel free to hit me up on twitter, same name

  19. Shacking with you Sweetheart says:

Mercer may not have a football team, but they are by far frattier than FSU. First of all the cost of attendance is 42,000 a year. What parties you ask? Just walk down greek row on any given day or night. The bars are full of college students and there are huge parties off campus all the time. Anyone that has actually partied at Mercer knows this.

  20. tcufratdaddy says:

SMU is very unfratty, they consist largely of spoiled west coast brats with cocaine problems driving dropped BMW’s and spiking their hair with product unbecoming of a fraternity gentleman.
